This paper explores the economic development strategies implemented in transition economies, focusing on the key challenges and opportunities they face in the process of shifting from centrally planned to market-oriented economies. Transition economies, such as those in Eastern Europe, Central Asia, and parts of Latin America, have experienced significant transformations in recent decades. The analysis examines the effectiveness of various policy measures, including privatization, trade liberalization, and institutional reforms, in promoting sustainable economic growth and development. The paper also discusses the role of international assistance and cooperation in supporting transition economies. Findings suggest that while transition economies have made substantial progress, they continue to grapple with issues such as income inequality, corruption, and environmental degradation. Despite these challenges, the paper highlights the potential for transition economies to achieve sustained growth through targeted strategies and collaborative efforts.
