The paper explores the intricate relationship between urbanization and regional development, focusing on the transformative effects of urban growth on economic, social, and environmental aspects. It begins by delineating the conceptual framework of urbanization, including its drivers, challenges, and opportunities. The analysis then shifts to the examination of regional development patterns, which are influenced by urbanization through processes such as spatial concentration, agglomeration economies, and infrastructure investments. The paper argues that while urbanization can lead to significant economic progress, it also poses challenges related to sustainable management, inequality, and environmental degradation. Through a comparative study of various urbanized regions, the paper identifies key strategies for fostering balanced regional development. These strategies encompass policies that promote inclusive growth, enhance social cohesion, and ensure environmental sustainability. The conclusion highlights the importance of integrating urban planning and regional development initiatives to achieve sustainable urbanization.
